The girls were born on November 16th, 2007, 16 weeks early. Mallory Kate – 1 lb 8 oz, Evan Reese – 1 lb 1 oz, and Kelby Grace – 1 lb 5 oz. Upon their delivery, Mallory and Kelby were transferred to St. David’s South and were doing fairly well considering the circumstances. Our little Evan Reese was a fighter, but she had a lot of problems and she was with us for about 5 hours. We love you Evan and we miss you everyday, but we know we’ll see you again one day. Mallory and Kelby both went through a lot in their 105 day stay in the hospital, from heart surgeries, to brain bleeds, to infections. Many prayers were answered and we thank God everyday for everything He has done for them. Today they are perfectly healthy and growing bigger and stronger everyday. We started this blog to keep everybody updated on their progress. You can scroll down to the bottom of the page for a slideshow from the NICU days.

We Love it Here!

The girls have been doing great at home so far. They are both really good, of course they sleep most of the time. They are definitely awake and very alert at times also. Sometimes right when we're getting ready to go to bed! The night time feedings have taken some getting used to, but it really hasn't been that bad. We'll let you know in a week if we still feel that way!

We had some company over the weekend, but they have all returned home. The girls had their first doctor's appointment yesterday. It went really well. They have both gained several ounces at home. Mallory is now 7 lb 11 oz and Kelby is 6 lb 12 oz. The doctor was pleased with their progress so far. We had been feeding them every three hours and the doctor said we could increase that to four hours at night. They are both eating like crazy. Kelby is having a little trouble with the Theophylline, it upsets her stomach a little we think, the doctor said that is a normal side effect. Luckily it hasn't been too bad. Not much else to report - we love having them at home - we think they like it here!

ahhhhhhhhhhh. I was awaiting your next post. Glad to hear all is going well. So ya think they like it at home? I bet they do! Lots of love and lots of milk! Yeah, as soon as you lay your head down, its Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhh. Feed me mom and dad. Oh how it was like yesterday. Now, for us, they attack you if you dont get the bottle ready quick enough. Down children! Down!

Yes, Em & Roo were late night party animals, too. It was like they lit up at 11pm. Hope the girls get the memo about 4 hours between feeds at night :) We are so thankful that they are home with their Mom and Dad.
