The girls were born on November 16th, 2007, 16 weeks early. Mallory Kate – 1 lb 8 oz, Evan Reese – 1 lb 1 oz, and Kelby Grace – 1 lb 5 oz. Upon their delivery, Mallory and Kelby were transferred to St. David’s South and were doing fairly well considering the circumstances. Our little Evan Reese was a fighter, but she had a lot of problems and she was with us for about 5 hours. We love you Evan and we miss you everyday, but we know we’ll see you again one day. Mallory and Kelby both went through a lot in their 105 day stay in the hospital, from heart surgeries, to brain bleeds, to infections. Many prayers were answered and we thank God everyday for everything He has done for them. Today they are perfectly healthy and growing bigger and stronger everyday. We started this blog to keep everybody updated on their progress. You can scroll down to the bottom of the page for a slideshow from the NICU days.

Some body is sneaking food????

Well we went to the GI specialist today for a follow up. Kelby had an upper GI and a sonogram last Thursday. She did great for both of them. She looked so big to us or at least to me. So hard to believe they are getting so big. I want to freeze time already. For the sonogram she was so still and just babbled. Then during the GI they put a little hospital gown on her, strapped her to this board and turned her sideways after she drank some lovely barium. That was not her favorite part by any means, but she was a trooper! We got the results today and everything looked great, no concerns.

At the appointment they did the usual weigh in. First was Mallory- 12lbs 10oz, then Kelby 12lbs 5oz. Those seemed right to us until I thought about their weights last week. If these are accurate that would mean Mallory gained almost a pound in a week! Completely not normal for an infant. Someone has been sneaking bottles at night! Laughing with the nurses we compared feeding times to today and last week. Realizing they had eaten almost two hours before last weeks apt and both "cleared" their systems that was probably a more accurate weight. With their apt. falling very close to lunch time, we chugged down lunch right up until it was time to leave.

These pictures are from Sunday before church. If we hurry and go to the 9am service they sleep the whole time!

Mallory's playtime

Mallory loves the exersaucer...

The other day I put her in it and went in the next room for a minute and noticed she had gotten quiet, so I went back in and...

"Tickle Me Kelby"

I had to hide the camera... otherwise she just stares at the camera and won't laugh. :)

Playtime...

We imagine the conversation in their heads went something like this....
M - "Do you have any idea what we're supposed to be doing with these things?"
K - "Nope."
M - "Me neither...."
K - "Why are they taking pictures??"
M - "I have no idea..."
After dinner, ready for bed...
