The girls were born on November 16th, 2007, 16 weeks early. Mallory Kate – 1 lb 8 oz, Evan Reese – 1 lb 1 oz, and Kelby Grace – 1 lb 5 oz. Upon their delivery, Mallory and Kelby were transferred to St. David’s South and were doing fairly well considering the circumstances. Our little Evan Reese was a fighter, but she had a lot of problems and she was with us for about 5 hours. We love you Evan and we miss you everyday, but we know we’ll see you again one day. Mallory and Kelby both went through a lot in their 105 day stay in the hospital, from heart surgeries, to brain bleeds, to infections. Many prayers were answered and we thank God everyday for everything He has done for them. Today they are perfectly healthy and growing bigger and stronger everyday. We started this blog to keep everybody updated on their progress. You can scroll down to the bottom of the page for a slideshow from the NICU days.

We're HOME!!!

Well, we made it home this afternoon. The girls are both doing great. Kelby is on an apnea monitor, but so far it hasn't gone off once. We made it through the night with them last night and it wasn't too bad. They were really quiet, and very sleepy - the hardest part of the night was trying to get them to wake up to eat at 3:30 in the morning. We left the hospital at about 12:30 pm this afternoon. We are now here at the house, the girls are resting comfortably in their new home. Just had a quiet moment - we've got to feed them again here in a little bit. Thank you all for your prayers and support over the last few months. Oh - and we got the results from Kelby's MRI and it looks GREAT! They said there is only one very small portion of her brain that was affected by it and their doctor said she could barely find it on the pictures. She said she was very pleasantly surprised - she expected it to be a lot worse. We'll post some more pics later of the homecoming and the girls room.

I don't think I've commented here but wanted to say congrats on bringing them home! My daughter was in the NICU at Seton (and PICU/IMC at what's now Dell Children's) for 8mos in 2006. I don't even know how I found your blog now but wanted to come out from hiding for this special occasion.
