The girls were born on November 16th, 2007, 16 weeks early. Mallory Kate – 1 lb 8 oz, Evan Reese – 1 lb 1 oz, and Kelby Grace – 1 lb 5 oz. Upon their delivery, Mallory and Kelby were transferred to St. David’s South and were doing fairly well considering the circumstances. Our little Evan Reese was a fighter, but she had a lot of problems and she was with us for about 5 hours. We love you Evan and we miss you everyday, but we know we’ll see you again one day. Mallory and Kelby both went through a lot in their 105 day stay in the hospital, from heart surgeries, to brain bleeds, to infections. Many prayers were answered and we thank God everyday for everything He has done for them. Today they are perfectly healthy and growing bigger and stronger everyday. We started this blog to keep everybody updated on their progress. You can scroll down to the bottom of the page for a slideshow from the NICU days.

Mom's Thoughts.......

First off so sorry we have not posted in over a week. We have been meaning to and then the girls start demanding attention and well another day passes. We have a lot to update and will get you caught up on the last week very soon.

Meanwhile........

Today Kelby had a doctor's appointment. Our neighbor kept Mallory for us. (thank you so much Alyssa you are a lifesaver) On the way to the appointment our song came on the radio- Everlasting God- Lincoln Brewster. I say our song because when I was pregnant every time it came on I would sing (in my car only) and would feel the girls kicking. Possibly they were saying "Mom please stop, you can't sing" but I always believed it was them dancing along. Anyway today when the song started I of course turned it up and began singing along. I glanced in the back and Kelby was wiggling along to the song. I smiled and almost cried!
If you haven't ever really listened to the words I have copied them at the end of this post. This song meant so much to me during the second trimester. As we prayed for our baby girls we knew our hands were tied all we could do is wait upon the Lord. Little did we know one of our little girls would soon rise on wings like an eagle to heaven to be with Jesus. He increased our strength as we watched our little girls grow from fragile one pounders to almost nine pounders.

He defended them, comforted us and He did not faint. A constant reminder that He Reigns Forever! What an amazing God we serve! We are all so fortunate to be called His Children.

At the end of the song the lead singers little boy recites Isaiah 40: 28b-31. It reminds me of Evan everytime

-current stats. Mallory 20" & 8.12 lbs Kelby 19.5" & 8.5lbs- monitor free!

Everlasting God by Lincoln Brewster
Strength will rise as we wait upon the Lord
We will wait upon the Lord
We will wait upon the Lord
Our God, You reign forever
Our hope, our Strong deliverer
You are the everlasting God
The everlasting God
You do not faint
You won't grow weary

You're the defender of the weak
You comfort those in need
You lift us up on wings like eagles
(repeat)

You are the everlasting God
The everlasting God
The everlasting God

Strength will rise as we wait upon the Lord
Wait upon the Lord
Wait upon the Lord
(repeat)

You are the everlasting God
The everlasting God
The everlasting God
I will wait upon the Lord
I will rise on wings like eagles

That is a great song. I got goose bumps as I read the lyrics again. I'm glad y'all are doing well and can't wait to hold your sweet babies in a couple of weeks!
**That was me that deleted the comment. I was working on someone's blog and forgot to sign back in as me when I posted the comment :) oops!
