The girls were born on November 16th, 2007, 16 weeks early. Mallory Kate – 1 lb 8 oz, Evan Reese – 1 lb 1 oz, and Kelby Grace – 1 lb 5 oz. Upon their delivery, Mallory and Kelby were transferred to St. David’s South and were doing fairly well considering the circumstances. Our little Evan Reese was a fighter, but she had a lot of problems and she was with us for about 5 hours. We love you Evan and we miss you everyday, but we know we’ll see you again one day. Mallory and Kelby both went through a lot in their 105 day stay in the hospital, from heart surgeries, to brain bleeds, to infections. Many prayers were answered and we thank God everyday for everything He has done for them. Today they are perfectly healthy and growing bigger and stronger everyday. We started this blog to keep everybody updated on their progress. You can scroll down to the bottom of the page for a slideshow from the NICU days.

How much longer, Doc???

The girls' doctor made a few changes today. They are both still doing great. They are going to try Mallory on a four hour feeding schedule - she has been so sleepy during her bottle feedings - we can't wake her up to eat, no matter what we do (but of course as soon as we lay her down when she's finally done eating - she's WIDE awake, 'Hey, What's going on guys, where ya been?') So, they're hoping the extra hour will make her more hungry so she'll take the entire bottle - and she'll be getting all of those by bottle, as long as she can do it. She's doing great though and gaining weight like crazy. Kelby is being switched over to the same thing that Mallory has been doing - she's getting 6 a day, she'll get two bottles, then one tube feeding, she's been taking bottles like a champ - twenty minutes flat. Mallory is now 6 lb 6 oz and Kelby is 5 lb 13 oz. They're getting so big (of course that's a relative term)...

Howdy,
I can totally relate to this posting. It would be like 60 ml (2 oz for the non-nicu parents;)) and they'd fall asleep. The kids weigh more than my kids did! Wow! It's just amazing what a little lyin' around and being fed can do huh? The countdown is on you guys. Tick tock.
