The girls were born on November 16th, 2007, 16 weeks early. Mallory Kate – 1 lb 8 oz, Evan Reese – 1 lb 1 oz, and Kelby Grace – 1 lb 5 oz. Upon their delivery, Mallory and Kelby were transferred to St. David’s South and were doing fairly well considering the circumstances. Our little Evan Reese was a fighter, but she had a lot of problems and she was with us for about 5 hours. We love you Evan and we miss you everyday, but we know we’ll see you again one day. Mallory and Kelby both went through a lot in their 105 day stay in the hospital, from heart surgeries, to brain bleeds, to infections. Many prayers were answered and we thank God everyday for everything He has done for them. Today they are perfectly healthy and growing bigger and stronger everyday. We started this blog to keep everybody updated on their progress. You can scroll down to the bottom of the page for a slideshow from the NICU days.

100 Days!

Well, we've been here 100 days and we're ready to go home!!!

We talked to Dr. Lynn yesterday and she gave us some better news. They are both now taking all of their feedings by bottle, and they have both been put back on regular formula. She thinks they were just spitting up for the same reason we did - they're babies! She said that they obviously haven't been spitting up too much, because they're gaining weight like crazy. She said "Well, you can tell from across the room that Mallory is having no problem gaining weight."

So, she thinks they are "very close to going home." They did put Kelby back on Theophylline and she's been doing great. She was back on oxygen for about a day, but they took her back off today and she's been doing great so far. As long as she can stay off of the oxygen, she'll be ready to come home soon, she may have to stay on the Theophylline, but we can give that to her at home.

We've been trying to figure out which bottles the girls like and what they can take at home. Of course they only like the most expensive ones - our girls have been high maintenance so far - why would that change now. ;)

We took some pictures yesterday - they're 100 days old! We love them so much and can't wait to have them home! It could be soon...
